Tranh stream is one of the must-visit destinations for tourists in Phu Quoc tours. Tranh stream features the lush beautiful natural landscapes with the wildflowers, forest, mountain, and sea, which is the ideal place for camping, or picnic as well as joining many interesting outdoor activities.
About Tranh stream
Tranh stream starts from Ham Ninh mountain range with the length of 15 km. The gentle stream flowing along the rocks continues to run far away. There are some parts of the stream running through rocky rapids creating small waterfalls. There is a path along the stream, enough for two people to hold hands together under the canopy of the green forest. The steps on the walkway are fine so visitors do not feel tired despite going up the mountain. The scene is like a beautifully natural picture, perhaps that is why people call it Tranh stream.
Tranh stream is surrounded by green trees and fragrant flowers. The shape of the tree is solid and strong, the stems are gray, growing in stone, the branches of orchids cling to the tree, where the branches are in constellations blooming yellow flowers, white flowers, which look like the button stitched into a chain hanging in midair. Near Tranh stream, there are many magical caves, such as Doi cave, located on a high mountain about 200 meters high, 50 meters deep, with many beautiful and strange stalactites.
What to do in Tranh stream
Coming to Tranh stream, visitors can bathe in the cool water of the stream, or enjoy bathing in the sea. Moreover, you can lean on stone moss, listen to the sound of flowing streams, chicks in a quiet space, suddenly remember the lyrics in the song "The faded moon by the stream" by Le Mong Nguyen : "You come with me to the stream, the dim forest of the dim light of the moon".
From the foot of Tranh stream, follow the trail towards the upstream about 300m, visitors will find a spacious space that can stop bathing in the stream, immerse yourself in the clear, cool water or lean yourself on the flat stones hear the sound of the stream flowing, the sound of birds chirping in the atmosphere of the forest at the stream. Visitors can also rest, camp, participate in fishing and enjoy delicious dishes on the spot. It is so peaceful and interesting.
In 2008, local people once caught a fish, weighing nearly 10 kg. On top of this fish, there are three dots, just like the dots of hue printed on the heads of monks. The back of the bent fish makes the tail always float on the water. Currently, the fish is managed by the Management Board in Suoi Tranh tourist area. This fish is being raised in a cement tank to serve tourists visiting. A foreign tourist has paid $ 1,000 for this fish, but the resort decided not to sell and keep it as an ornamental fish. The manager of this fish said: “For decades on this Phu Quoc island, this is the only fish with the big and strange freshwater appearance like this”.
